Abstract
The Introduction presents theoretical justifications and practical studies of students' reactions to a large flow of media content of varying reliability and significance related to current events in society.
The “Methods” section demonstrates a specially designed questionnaire. The anonymous survey consists of two parts: subjective and reflexive assessments. 142 first-year university students took а part in the study. The novelty of the study lies in the analysis of the students' emotional reactions to what is happening in the infosphere as a new area of social reality that forms the attitude of the younger generation to reality.
The "Results" section presents the data of the study, the purpose of which is to study the degree of influence of the media on the emotional state of students.
The “Discussion of results” section presents conclusions about the features of information impact on students in the current socio-cultural and political situation. The presence of anxiety for the future, interest in what is happening, the need for emotional support and obtaining reliable information were revealed. The “Conclusion” section reflects the directions of further research on the issues under consideration. Conclusions are drawn about the need for explanatory work and improving media literacy among students. The goals are outlined for further, more in-depth research and analysis of students' attitudes to media content on an expanded sample of respondents.
