Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of narcissism and its connection with gender identity. The Introduction substantiates the relevance of the study of the relationship between gender and manifestations of narcissism, provides a theoretical overview of approaches to the definition of the concept of narcissism.

The novelty of the study lies in obtaining information regarding the relationship of gender identity with constructive and destructive narcissism.

The «Methods» section describes methods for researching the relationship between gender identity and narcissism. According to the Results of the empirical study, the prevailing average level of narcissism and the androgynous type of gender identity were revealed. Statistical calculation made it possible to prove the relationship between these parameters and to give a qualitative analysis of the phenomena under study. It was determined that subjects with a masculine type of gender identity, having pronounced masculine qualities, show some callousness in relationships, since they are not characterized by a high degree of empathy. Masculine narcissists tend to be brash and arrogant in their behavior and have a high sense of worth. At the same time, it was revealed that the less masculinity is expressed, the more deficit narcissism is manifested, as evidenced by the inverse correlation revealed with it. This category of respondents is not able to defend their own interests, is characterized by low self-esteem, a sense of their own insignificance, self-doubt, is content only with the role of a passive recipient (receiver). It has been proven that androgynes are more prone to the manifestation of constructive narcissism, recognition of their own value, realistic self-acceptance. This connection can be explained by the harmonious integration of masculine and feminine traits that increase the adaptive abilities of androgynes. It is noted that they are prone to manipulation, showing stability in social contacts and the absence of pronounced dominant-aggressive tendencies in communication, which allows them to more competently achieve their goals, and, as a result, maintain self-confidence. In the «Discussion of the results» section, an interpretation is given of the results obtained on the relationship of the androgynous type of gender identity with narcissism, in particular, with constructive narcissism, and masculine gender with deficient gender.

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of co-dependence within the framework of developmental psychology through the phenomenon of mother-child fusion, also in the key of general psychology through the main interpretations of the concept of "codependence" and in the context of clinical psychology through the interdependence of the manifestation of dependent behavior and co-dependent behavior in a dysfunctional family. In the Introduction the scientific significance of the problem of codependence, as well as its ambiguity, is given.

The novelty of the study lies in a new look at the formation of codependence as a primary education, on the basis of which a dependent family system is already being built, or as a secondary problem arising from interaction with an addicted person.

The Theoretical justification provides a theoretical overview of the problem of codependence within the framework of developmental psychology through the phenomenon of the fusion of mother and child. Merging with the child serves to gratify the parent's sense of security, which may be a way of reducing one's own heightened anxiety through nurturing the child. Consideration of the problem of co-dependence in the key of general psychology is given through the main interpretations of the concept of "co-dependence" and the most common manifestations for different groups of people codependencies: low self-esteem, focus on the life of the other, value substitution, high levels of anxiety, progression over time, and self-destructive behavior. In the context of clinical psychology, consideration of co-dependent behavior is presented through the interdependence of the manifestation of dependent behavior and co-dependent behavior in a dysfunctional system as different manifestations of the same disease. Addiction and codependency is seen as a family disease. In the section Discussion of the results, an analysis of the theoretical review of the problem of codependency is carried out, brief conclusions are presented on the features that should be considered in scientific research on this problem. In the «Сonclusion» section, it is concluded that codependency capture includes all scopes of a person’s life possibilities and, to a greater extent, communicative, exclusive dysfunctions within the family and can provoke the formation of codependence among other members of the family system.

Abstract

The article considers the question of the influence of the life scenario on life satisfaction. The main attention in the work is focused on the manifestation of the delayed life syndrome, as a phenomenon that includes not only the corresponding scenario behavior, but also the neurosis accompanying it. The relevance of the work is due to the wide spread of the observed phenomenon.

The novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time the question of the possibility of the influence of the delayed life syndrome on subjective well-being is raised. In the Introduction, the author cites the relevance of the study, which is dictated by the increased interest of society and each individual, in particular, to the question of what can affect life satisfaction.

Another aspect of the relevance of the study is the prevalence of delayed life syndrome. An analytical review of various approaches to life satisfaction, delayed life syndrome, and life scenarios is also provided. For the study, 100 people aged 18 to 65 years were surveyed. The «Methods» section outlines the main methods of analyzing both theoretical and empirical data. The Results of the study show the relationship between the delayed life syndrome and the level of life satisfaction. In the «Discussion of the results» section, the author notes that life satisfaction is often associated with achieving the standard of life that exists in a person. The main distinguishing feature of the delayed life syndrome is the existence of a turning point that occurs when the main goal is achieved, and after it a real and happy life should begin. Accordingly, people living the scenario, due to the large discrepancy between the desired and the actual, cannot feel full satisfaction with life. In the Conclusion section, the author comes to the conclusion that the presence of delayed life syndrome negatively affects satisfaction.
